Our Mission
Strong Ties Canada
Partners in Wraparound Learning, Leading & Coaching
New beginnings. Stronger connections. Better outcomes.
What if we went through life trying to make a connection instead of an impression” – Dr Ronald Siegel
Strong Ties Canada evolved from two interrelated service models, High Fidelity Wraparound (HFWA) and Motivational Interviewing Informed Wraparound (MiiWrap ®). These two evidence-based practices are the foundation of our training and coaching services. It is a comprehensive yet highly adaptable, team-supported process.
More so, Strong Ties Canada, is a mindset that enables agencies and communities to help clients drive change in their own lives, resulting in a radical improvement in their wellbeing and lifelong connections.
Strong Ties Canada makes navigating the complex paths to change for organizations and the individuals they serve possible. Our process is collaborative, customizable and proven.
It’s everything we would want for youth and families impacted by mental health, addiction, homelessness and disability.
Unfortunately, with the same traditional approach to service involving multiple systems of care, each prescribing what they think your clients should do instead of what the individual needs to truly thrive, change is short-lived. With good intentions but limited resources, clients often live the same story repeatedly.
This taxing and disempowering cycle can be broken in a fundamental way. The question we need to first ask ourselves and our organizations is, what evokes real and lasting change in the lives of our clients?
Answering this question is simple but requires courage, commitment and collaboration.
Strong Ties Canada is revolutionizing communities and the future of human services in Canada. It’s time for better and braver outcomes for all.

40+ Years
Our History
Strong Ties Canada is owned and operated by McMan Youth, Family & Community Services Association of Calgary & Area, a registered charitable organization that has been serving in Calgary for over 40 years.
At McMan Calgary & Area, we live and breathe wraparound by embedding key elements, or the entirety, into every program and service. In fact, our core service delivery training and philosophy of the leadership and development of our people embodies the four phases and competencies of wraparound.
With close to 15 years of experience in wraparound practice, our passion for the model is demonstrated by the results coming out of our innovative programming. We have seen tremendous client outcomes and success using wraparound with women struggling with addictions, adults experiencing homelessness, youth living in group care and mental health programming.
Some of the amazing results and value created in these programs include:
- Decreased critical incidents for youth in care
- Increased number of youth returning to family or natural supports from government care
- Decreased relapse for individuals with addiction
- Increased successful transitions out of services, including successful housing, employment and sobriety
A recent social return on investment analysis of our Journeys Program, which provides during and post-treatment wraparound support for women with addictions, demonstrated a 1:10 SROI; this means for every $1 invested in results in $10 of economic and social value, particularly from decreased rates of relapse and return to services.
We have also embedded wraparound into our Manhattan Place Group Home, which supports youth in care which has resulted in increased transitions out of care and back to family or natural supports. Finally, we are piloting wraparound at The James House and Hope Homes which provides housing and individualized supports for youth and adults experiencing homelessness.
At Strong Ties Canada, we are passionate about spreading our knowledge and supporting better outcomes across the human services sector.
